Yering Station

Victoria’s first vineyard

Established in 1838, Yering Station is proudly recognised as Victoria’s first vineyard and remains one of the most respected wineries in the Yarra Valley.

Founded by the pioneering Ryrie brothers, the estate has played a defining role in Victoria’s wine story for almost two centuries. Today, under the stewardship of the Rathbone family, Yering Station continues to craft cool climate wines from estate-owned vineyards known for their balance, structure and expressive varietal character.

The historic cellar door invites guests to explore guided tastings in an elegant setting that honours the property’s heritage. Beyond the glass, the signature restaurant showcases regional produce designed to complement the estate’s wines, while the expansive grounds offer sweeping vineyard views that shift beautifully with the seasons.

A visit here is both educational and indulgent, a refined expression of the Yarra Valley.

A living piece of wine history

Yering Station began as a modest vineyard and cattle farm in the 19th century. Over generations, it evolved into one of the region’s leading wineries, shaping the identity of Victorian cool climate winemaking.

Its blend of heritage architecture, contemporary winemaking and curated experiences makes it a destination in its own right, drawing visitors from across Australia and beyond.
