Marysville & District Historical Society

The Marysville & District Historical Society is dedicated to preserving and showcasing the rich history of Marysville and its surrounding areas. Established by local enthusiasts, the society maintains a museum that houses a diverse collection of artifacts, photographs, and documents that chronicle the region’s development from its early days during the gold rush era to the present. The society actively engages the community through educational programs, exhibitions, and events, fostering a deeper understanding of Marysville’s heritage. Their efforts are especially significant in documenting the town’s resilience and recovery following the devastating 2009 Black Saturday bushfires, ensuring that the stories of the past continue to inform and inspire future generations.

Open: Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday & Sunday 12pm-3pm or by appointment.
