On your way to Peppers Marysville, why not make a detour that’s just as sweet as the destination? The Yarra Valley Chocolaterie and Ice Creamery’s Hot Chocolate Festival returns this winter with a month of limited-edition hot chocolates, hands-on chocolate-making and cosy winter treats to enjoy before you even check in.
Running from 1 to 31 August 2026, the festival is the perfect reason to leave a little early and start the holiday before you arrive. Think of it as the first stop on the way to Marysville, not just a pit stop.
Festival flavours
Each week of the festival brings a brand-new menu of limited-edition hot chocolates, every one made with couverture chocolate, a handcrafted marshmallow, artisan ingredients and a playful interactive twist.
Hot Chocolate Festival Tasting Session
For those who want to make the stopover count, the Tasting Session is a proper detour-worthy experience. Guests sip and savour eight indulgent festival flavours, then get hands-on creating three personalised hot chocolate spheres to take home – ideal for warming up once you’re settled in at the hotel.

Hot Chocolate Creation Lab
Travelling with the family? The Creation Lab is a relaxed, drop-in stop on the way through – no bookings needed, just an easy break in the drive.

On the way to Peppers Marysville
The Yarra Valley Chocolaterie and Ice Creamery is located in Yarra Glen, approximately 45 minutes by car from Peppers Marysville – making it a natural (and sweet) stop on the drive to Peppers Marysville. Entry is free and the Chocolaterie is open daily from 9am to 5pm, so however you time your journey, there’s room to pull in, warm up with a hot chocolate, and let the kids loose on the free Chocolaterie Discovery Map before continuing on to the mountain.
Build the stop into your trip north and arrive at Peppers Marysville already in holiday mode – chocolate-fuelled and ready to unwind.
