Cherry Picking in the Yarra Valley
Cherry season is one of the sweetest times to visit the Yarra Valley, and CherryHill Orchards offers a classic summer experience across its Coldstream and Wandin East orchards.
Running from 9 November 2026 to 8 January 2027, CherryHill’s pick-your-own season invites guests to wander the orchard, pick cherries fresh from the tree and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of the Yarra Valley in summer.
Each year, visitors can pack a picnic and settle into the scenic grounds after their cherry-picking session. The onsite farmgate store and café also serve cherry ice cream, drinks and seasonal cherry treats, making it an easy day out for families, couples and friends.
CherryHill Coldstream
CherryHill’s Coldstream orchard is the closer of the two locations to Peppers Marysville, located at 739 Maroondah Highway, Coldstream.
Now celebrating its fourth season, Coldstream is a larger orchard with open picnic lawns, a modern café and tasting space, and a new kids’ play area. Guests can enjoy views across the surrounding region, relax on the lawns and make the most of CherryHill’s cherry-flavoured drinks and seasonal treats.
CherryHill Wandin East
CherryHill’s Wandin East orchard is located at 474 Queens Road, Wandin East.
This is where CherryHill’s first cherry trees were planted in 1940, giving the orchard a more rustic, heritage feel. With rolling lawns, open views and an onsite café, Wandin East offers a more traditional farm-style cherry-picking experience during the season.
Getting there from Marysville
From Peppers Marysville, CherryHill’s Coldstream orchard is approximately one hour by car, making it the closer option for guests staying in Marysville. The Wandin East orchard is a little further into the Yarra Valley, so travel time will depend on which location is listed on your ticket.
For guests planning a summer stay, cherry picking can be enjoyed as part of a wider Yarra Valley day out, with time for scenic drives, wineries, local produce stops or a relaxed lunch before returning to Marysville.
Tickets are limited once released, and guests are encouraged to book early for preferred dates during the cherry-picking season.
